Its that time of year again where i dust off the clubs and head to the mountains to play

a few rounds of golf with the chaps in the tourney known as the Tarney or the Tarnish Cup.

The tournament has been going a while and I managed to do rather well on my debut and

win the darned thing. Since then things havent been so easy, partly handicapped by a low

handicap and partly through poor play I have been bringing up the rear or thereabouts

for the three years since.

This year I am going to try and reduce my alcohol intake to something reasonable and stay

focused and in good mental shape. Thats the key to my game - keeping sharp mentally, if I can

do that then I can do OK.

This year we're heading down to Lake Placid for the weekend, meaning I have to head off right

after work to make the 8pm opening dinnner ceremony. Im not pleased that my room mate is

a rotund simpleton but there you go, thats what you get when your pal bails on you!

Its the first time we've been down to the US as a group of 16 and it should make a nice change from the Tremblant area where we always went before.

In other news work is going well, its been 3 months this week I have been here and I am happy

as a pig in shit for the most part. I realised this job is a highly sought after one and most IT

folk would jump at the opportunity. For that I am glad.
