Le Vieux

The Old Port is translated as "Le Vieux" in Quebecois French. I learnt this factlet
as we were taking a taxi to our dinner destination L'assomoir last night.

We had been to the Bernard Street location a year or so ago and enjoyed it very much,
I had probably one of my best ever Mojitos there (a raspberry one) and went for the same again last night. It wasn't AS good as before but I didn't tell the barman that, I might have hurt his
feelings. Anyway the food wasn't as good either. We had a plate full of meat, grilled vegetables
and sauteed potatoes. The lamb was overcooked and bland and the sausages were undercooked
and almost cold. Everything else was nice, even though we had a bit of a crummy seat, the
atmosphere was very enjoyable.

After dinner we walked down to the waterfront at Terasse Bonsecours and (quite rightly) refused
to pay $15 each to sit on the upper terrace to watch the frankly disappointing fireworks which
seemed shorter and less extravagent than in recent years.

All in all though it was a very enjoyable evening leaving me mildly hungover.

Today I have to dig up a tree root and fill in a hole as well as redo the wiring at the back of
the Media Cabinet under the TV. That will be bags of fun Im sure.
