So here it is the night of the year that everyone goes 'out' has fun, drinks, partys and gets home late. Except for me this year because I opted to stay at home. I opted to save the probable $100 I would spend on going out and I opted to baby sit. Which essentially means me being me at home on my own while Julie goes out and tries not to spend too much more than that.
In short, Im happy to do this. I really couldnt give a monkeys about going out tonight, proving that 'I've still got it', 'partying' and generally trying to be hip and cool. I am 34 and a Dad. I am not
the young withit that used to go to ClubUK, Lazerdrome, Ministry of Sound, Hacienda and Lost and all the other clubs way back when spending heaps of money on drugs, booze and transport. Im just a middle aged saddo who happens to be happy with his lot.
Firefox just crashed on me, I have only just started to reuse it tonight after massive overuse of memory problems with Chrome, GOD PLEASE DONT MAKE ME USE IE AGAIN.
En tous cas. I am happy with my lot, I really am. I like my house, I love my wife and daughter and I do alright in my job - when I have work! I am looking out of a window onto my own garden shed in my own garden in a downtown 3 bedroom place that's really not too shabby. I have had some pretty amazing times this decade, visited North and South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Australasia. I have seen some spectacular sights, had some wonderful experiences, made some terrible mistakes and been through some incredible times.
Not least was the birth of our lovely daughter Alice who has changed my life for the better in so many ways. I am truly so grateful that she is with us and I look forward to the next 10 years as I have her and my lovely Julie to spend it with.
Life is a thumbs up.
