I was captain for the team for one night as the GM was injured and the captain was suspended.
We were up against arguably the best team in the league who had won 6 straight and scored something like 50 goals in the process.
Our team on the other hand had just been handily beaten twice in a row, were missing our top goalscorer, three defenders and with 2 minutes to kickoff hadnt even got a full team out.
Naturally we go 1-0 down in the first 10 minutes. We're defending deep, they have a really skilfull player up front and we're in trouble. Then a funny thing happened, we started to play football. Tackling, passing, shooting, the stuff that makes it fun.
In short we won 8-2, it was the most satisfying game Ive ever played in. I scored twice and played well including a goal from the half way line! ho ho. I drove home with a big grin on my face and couldnt be happier.
Went out to watch the habs last night with my mate who spent half the night texting someone on his bb. hmmmm.
